Olympic Glory

Pardon me if I exercise a bit of patriotism. It was a glorious day for Canadians at the Winter Olympics today, with a beaming Chandra Crawford a surprise gold medallist in cross-country skiing, Cindy Klassen and Kristina Groves skating to a 1-2 finish in the 1,500 m speed skating, and the women’s short track team taking silver in the relay.

Congratulations to all of the winners! It was truly a banner day.

(Or at least, it was a banner day for Canadian athletes who aren’t men, paid millions in their day jobs, competing when it’s convenient for marketing, but who don’t show up when it counts.)

I only really read it for Canucks coverage, but even still it’s nice that The Vancouver Sun finally redesigned its hideously awful website to look like it was designed this century.
