Take This Liberal
Non-conservatives would do well to read Thomas Frank in The New York Review of Books if they want to know how not to win the hearts and minds of voters. “What’s the Matter with Liberals?” is a meaty and highly intelligent examination of why the Republicans have taken the last two American elections and how the Democrats just don’t get it.
Frank elucidates some ideas that have been on my mind for awhile. It’s so irritating to hear and read the endless preaching against “liberal elites”, targeted at the working class, but spoken by unspeakably rich politicians who are, in fact, putting all their efforts into making the rich richer.
