Gotta Get the Workin’ Man Home Pronto
This may be the best song every written about the Toronto subway.
Come to think of it, it may be the only song every written about the Toronto subway, but if you’re going to have a song, might as well make it spiffy, eh?
It’s the Toronto subway’s fiftieth birthday, in case you were wondering, and to celebrate, the federal, provincial and local governments offered to hand over $1 billion to make sure it lasts another fifty or so. I say, okay, Torontonians need to get around like anyone else, but can we get some money to write a song about the Montreal Métro and the Vancouver SkyTrain?
